Yes — we're licensed in Nevada

Shumeka Hill, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, CPNP-AC, LCDC II, holds licensure in Nevada. You'll need to be physically located in Nevada during your appointment, which is a requirement for every telehealth provider, not just this one.

Getting care in Nevada

Nevada has one of the most severe per-capita behavioral health workforce shortages in the western United States. Outside Las Vegas and Reno, access to a psychiatric provider often means driving hours or waiting months.

We see patients across Nevada by video — including Las Vegas, Henderson, Reno, North Las Vegas and Sparks, and every community in between. Because care is delivered remotely, where you live in Nevada makes no difference to whether you can be seen.

Treated by one person, not handed between three

In most medication-assisted treatment programs, the prescriber, the counselor and the psychiatric provider are three different people at three different organizations who never speak to each other.

Shumeka Hill is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, a family nurse practitioner, and a licensed chemical dependency counselor. The medication, the counseling and the depression or anxiety underneath it are handled in the same relationship.

Roughly half of people with a substance use disorder have a co-occurring mental health condition. Treating one while ignoring the other is a common reason people relapse.

Can you get Suboxone through telehealth?

Yes, and it is worth understanding why. Under federal rules currently in effect, DEA-registered practitioners may evaluate patients and prescribe buprenorphine for opioid use disorder by telemedicine without a prior in-person examination. For opioid use disorder specifically, this can include audio-only visits.

Two conditions apply to every provider, including this one: you must be physically located in a state where we are licensed, and a prescription is never automatic. Any clinic promising you a prescription before meeting you is not practicing medicine.

Suboxone Treatment in Nevada: common questions

Are you licensed in Nevada?
Yes. Shumeka Hill, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, CPNP-AC, LCDC II, is licensed in Nevada and in 22 other states. You need to be physically located in Nevada at the time of your visit.
Do I need to travel anywhere in Nevada?
No. All care is delivered by video from wherever you are in Nevada. There is no office to drive to and no waiting room.
How quickly can I start treatment?
Most new patients are scheduled within the same week, and medication can often begin at or shortly after the first visit when clinically appropriate. If you are in withdrawal now, call us and we will do what we can to see you sooner.
Do I need insurance?
No, and we do not bill it. We are self-pay with published rates, which means no prior authorization delays and no coverage denial standing between you and treatment.
Who can prescribe Suboxone?
Any DEA-registered practitioner, including nurse practitioners. The separate X-waiver requirement was eliminated in 2023.
Is Suboxone trading one addiction for another?
No. Buprenorphine taken as prescribed stabilizes brain chemistry so withdrawal and cravings stop dominating your life. Physical dependence is not the same as addiction, and this is among the most evidence-supported treatments in medicine.

Medication is prescribed only where clinically appropriate following an evaluation. No prescription is guaranteed. You must be physically located in Nevada at the time of your visit.
